| Titanium dioxide and mineral fertilizers production process is a power-consuming and resource-demanding industry. Energy resources comprise 15-18% of net cost of main products. Today a continuous price increase for electrical power and gas is observed on the energy market and it is estimated that this tendency will remain unchanged in the nearest future.
Modernization and reconstruction of manufacturing equipment is performed at company's own cost and expense by means of obtained funds. These steps are taken to reduce costs and implement new technologies.
The company finances a number of reconstruction projects aimed at increasing effectiveness of energy consumption.
The company is interested in fulfilling major energy-saving projects but there's lack of funds for these activities.
Energy-saving project implemented by CJSC "Crimea TITAN" is sponsored by Ukrainian Energy-Saving Service Company's (this company is implementing the project under the aegis of IBRD-International Bank Reconstruction and Development) lies in building an in-house steam turbo-generator. Overheated high-pressured steam generated by the existing boilers will be used by the turbine for generating power by 6MW turbo-generator, and after that the steam of required properties will be transmitted to the consumers.
As a result the efficiency of existing boiler-room capacities utilization will be increased, energy costs will be reduced and power net cost will be 60-65% cheaper compared to the purchased one.
